If there is one thing that interests Astrid Oudheusden it is la condition humaine. All her works derive from this source, what moves people, how do they try to avoid their fate and pain. With wit, compassion and a critical eye she paints us a picture of what it is like to be human in a world so far removed from nature.
Her works are created in a studio on the outskirts of Amsterdam with a view on the harbour.

“You wonder who the mother is in this drawing. Are they longing for an embrace as well? This drawing is part of on ongoing series of drawings, made as a start of the day, a moment of transition.”
